Kate Hudson may be a svelte Hollywood star, but she reckons her slim figure is not down to watching the calories.
“I’m not a dieter,” she tells Entertainment Tonight. “I’m in the wrong family to be a dieter. My mum [Goldie Hawn] is always making chicken and dumplings.”
The actress says that her active lifestyle helps her stay in shape, and she is keen to test her competitive streak by taking part in a triathlon.
She said: “Sports are big in my life. I swim, run, bike and dance, play volleyball and soccer, and I want to start training for a triathlon. I’m one of those people who love to be active.”
The 29-year-old blonde beauty said her love of sport helped her lose 50lbs after her son Ryder – her child with ex-husband Christ Robinson – was born four years ago.
Instead of working out in a gym, Kate decided to have fun while she lost weight, playing the sports she enjoyed.
She said: “I dance – I’m pretty active,” she says. “Pilates is really good. I like being outside a lot.”
She added: “Life is too short to be concerned with anything but having a great time.”
The actress also admits she is growing tired of rumors she is pregnant with her second child, insisting her body is constantly changing.
Kate explained: It has been said maybe four times recently that I’m pregnant. Because I’m leaning over in the picture. You think about it, and you’re like, ‘What are you doing?’ It’s all bulls**t. Excuse my language, but it is. Women’s bodies change – they change all the time.”
